The following radio stations will announce emergency school closing news for Capac Community Schools:

WPHM - 1380 AM Port Huron

WHLS - 1450 AM Port Huron

WJR - 760 AM or 96 FM - Detroit

WWJ - 950 AM - Detroit

Announcements will also be made on the following TV stations:

WXYZ-TV - Channel 7 - Detroit

WDIV-TV - Channel 4 - Detroit

WJBK-TV - Channel 2 - Detroit

Whenever possible, a decision to delay or close school will be made by 6 a.m. and announced by the above radio stations and television stations. When weather conditions or other emergency situations close school after it has been in session and before regular dismissal times, the same radio stations will be asked to make the announcement.

Early dismissals will be announced on the radio. Children should be instructed as to what they should do if school does close early and no one is home. This is important for all children, but critical in homes where parents are away from the home during school hours.

If weather conditions are so severe that we are able to determine school closings the evening before, the announcement will be made over stations after 9 p.m. All questions regarding closing procedures should be - directed to the superintendent's office at (810) 395-3710.
